Korea’s top celebrity chefs check out JSWC’s new menu
We’re not just about wine you know! Last week some of Korea’s top celebrity chefs paid us a visit to check out our brand new menu from Hong Kong resident head chef Jack Lee. Chan Il Park, Raymon Kim and Jung Hoyoung – renowned not just for their Korean cuisine but also for their excellent Western dishes – flew in from Seoul to tuck into a menu filled with some of our new renditions.
They enjoyed a pairing dinner featuring a 2016 Marchesi Antinori Umbria Cervaro Della Sala, a 2014 Vietti Barolo Castiglione, a 2016 Chateau Lafaurie-peyraguey Sauternes and a fine 99-point 2016 Chateau Pichon Baron Pauillac. All the wines were personally selected by James and his team, delivering on our reputation as Hong Kong’s best wine bar.
Food highlights included a delectable egg with tofu and truffle, a tuna tartare, wagyu beef and an artisanal cheeseboard with a 24-month aged Comté and Neil’s Yard stilton cheese to finish.
Korea is a country close to James’s heart. He loves the country, its people and its food, and his wife Marie is also Korean. At the end of October James and the team will be in Korea at the Seoul debut of Great Wines of the World.
